Client was a worker at a tire shop. He observed a youth taking a bicycle from another youth and intervened. The youth told his brothers that client had roughed him up and the brothers went to the tire shop they didn’t find the client, but his brother and assaulted him.
Client, his brother and father confronted the brothers of the youth and a fight occurred in which bricks were thrown. At trial all of this came out, along with the fact that the “victim” was a convicted felon who had 38 counts of aggravated assault pending against him in another county. The jury found all the men guilty of a misdemeanor called affray, which is basically a fight. Once again, the client walked out of the courthouse with us after trial instead of facing 20 years in prison.
